J.J. Hardy for Carlos Gomez

I'm glad to know the great and pivotal player the Twins received for Johan Santana, Carloz Gomez, is able to bring in so much value for the trade market these days- able to bring the great Brewers S.S. J.J. Hardy. Just another example of this new Twins G.M. showing off his greatness. I mean when you trade away Santana, Matt Garza, and Jason Bartlett, how can you not be in the Billy Beane stratosphere?

Even though you're probably never going to read the rebuttal, here we go anyway

1) Yes Carlos Gomez sucks. My apologies for my sarcasm not being as prevalent as I wanted it to be when you can't hear the tone of my words. Oh, and that last line was sarcasm in case you didn't pick up on that.
2) The Twins are "in contention" because of their awful division but mainly because if their old GM. In 2007, the Twins GM of 13 years Terry Ryan retired and was replaced by Bill Smith- who is awful.

Smith traded away Matt Garza and Jason Bartlett to only get back Delmon Young and Smith traded away, at the time, the best AL pitcher, when they had to money to pay him (assuming they didn't pay the great Michael Cuddyer) and the cornerstone of the trade was Carlos Gomez, who as we have just "proven" sucks.

Mauer, Morneau, Span, Slowey, Baker, Blackburn, Liriano, Nathan, and essentially the core of the Twins and will be for the foreseeable future is all because of Terry Ryan. Smith inherited an awesome farm system and now gets credit because he was around when the farm system develops?

But glad to know I'M the idiot. Again, sarcasm.

Actually, the organization, post-Garza trade has been pretty solid.:
