Today the Chicago Bulls played the Miami Heat which meant the number one pick in the 2008 draft (Rose) faced the second pick (Beasley) for the first time in a regular season NBA game. Beasley had a lot more hype before the NCAA tournament and was projected to be the number one pick before Rose put on a show and was picked by his hometown team. There was a constant debate before the draft who the Bulls should take. So far this season Rose has been better than Beasley. Beasley is now coming off the bench and not getting as much playing time as everyone thought.
In their first match up where it counts, Beasley won the matchup. Neither one of them dominated or lit up the scoreboard. Rose played 38 minutes with 10 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists on a pathetic 3-14 from the field. Beasley played 23 minutes off the bench and had 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks on 6-11 from the field. Hopefully next time they play Rose will show Beasley why he was the number one pick!
I was one of those people clamoring for Beasley because I thought Rose got some undeserved hype because of how Memphis did during March Madness. I thought Beasley dominated all season long and thought it wasn't fair that his team left the tournament early because that K-State team, as a whole, was terrible. I thought Beasley would give the Bulls some much needed inside presence (which they've needed for YEARS and yet Jerry Angelo has done shit about it!). I was wrong.
ReplyDeleteRose is SOOOOO much better than Beasley (at least thus far). Rose is looking like the Rookie of the Year and has just done so much on such a disappointing team. As I'm sure anyone who even remotely follows basketball has heard "Deron Williams and Chris Paul are so rare" and that's who Rose is. I don't care (or know) who plays Rose's position on the team but they need to get traded. Derrick Rose is just amazing and maybe for once in recent years the Bulls got a lottery pick worth saving and being amazing.
Despite the match up last night, Derrick Rose is FAR superior to Michael Beasley.
i didnt realize jerry angelo was also the GM of the bulls. just kidding, kaps just hates angelo that much i guess
ReplyDeleteBy bad. John Paxton. Jerry Angelo. One guy is a shitty GM of an underachieving Chicago team that gives lots of money to star players who end up doing shit after receiving the huge contract, that has teams which show glimmers of hope and star potential but ends up doing shit not making the playoffs and looks bad winning games, who does a shitty job drafting and making trades, and deserves to get fired. And the other one is... oh wait
