MLB Players Make Money For Playoffs

I always knew that teams that made it to the playoffs make more money. That is common knowledge from tickets, concessions, and t.v rights. What I didn't know is that players get a part of that. As
Yahoo sports said "The Yankees won the World Series, and their full postseason shares were worth a record $365,053. That was up from $351,504 on the 2008 champion Philadelphia Phillies and the previous mark of $362,173 set by the 2006 St. Louis Cardinals".

From the $365,053 the Yankees received the "Yankees players received $21.27 million and split it among 46 full shares, 12 partial shares and two cash awards". So the players get a piece of the pie. You can read in the article how much the rest of the teams and players received, even the Cubs for not making it!
