We are four humble men who love sports, but hate sports commentary. Peter Gammons is our hero and John Madden is our enemy. If you were to ask us our purpose, our answer would be simple: "We are forever locked in Mortal Kombat for the souls of sports fans everywhere. Statistics are our science and 'the immeasurable character of men' is the obsolete religion of blind faith. Our job is to prove that God doesn't exist and that athletes are merely cold, metal machines with no hearts or souls."

Apply To Be Head Coach Of DePaul Division I Basketball
LOL! It used to be easy to get that job so I might have had a chance. Now they seem to be actually going after big names and people with experience who may be good for the program! So I don't think now I would have a chance.
Plus, I am a basketball fan, but I don't know enough of coaching basketball with schemes and stuff. I could be a baseball manager, but not basketball coach!
You guys understand just how sad this is? This is a D1 program that has produced numerous NBA players. They should have coaching candidates begging them for the job, not posting a help wanted ad on their school website. It's like the Illini posting an ad on uiuc begging for a coach once Zook gets canned
I defiantly understand how bad this is. Being a basketball fan and going to DePaul I obviously follow the Blue Demons closely. I went to two blowout games last year and got sick of it and then stopped going! In the past they have begged coaches to come to them. This year I have heard some good coaches being rumored for the job. It is weird that they advertise this type of thing online. I have never heard of that.
I was talking to a friend and I think DePaul does this for every position as a formality. That even the coaches they target will have to apply at that positing with the proper information, but they obviously won't look at anyone they don't ask to apply.
I saw this the other day when looking for jobs. That is one of the sites I visit frequently to check. The question is why were you?
ReplyDeleteCubsfan, you know basketball, you're a DePaul alum- you should apply!
