Nick Adenhart revisited

It's pretty chilling to check the bio page of a 22 year old baseball player and find the word deceased next to his current status.

This tragedy quickly reminded me of several other athletes who's careers ended far too soon. The first one was the tragic death of USC kicker Mario Danelo. Within days of winning the rose bowl, he went out to party, got drunk, fell off a cliff and died. He appeared to have a bright kicking future ahead of him halted by a tragedy.

The other situation that comes to mind is former cub Adam Greenberg. He had exactly one plate appearance in the big leagues, not even an official one, as he was hit in the head and suffered a major concussion. He was able to return to baseball, but has never made it back to the majors. The real world "field of dreams"
