VH1 Hip Hop Honors

It is safe to say I was not impressed by Sexy Rexy's latest post about the top 10 singles of the year. Mainly because anything other than rap sounds like a garbage disposal to me, and partly because i think Jay-Z ripped off Nas' "NY State of Mind" with "Empire State of Mind". I recently watched the annual VH1 Hip Hop Honors show, where this year they honored men who revolutionized hip hop in different regions of the country. Examples include Timbaland from Virginia Beach, Jermaine Dupri from Hotlanta, and Master P from New Orleans. The show as a whole was entertaining, but two performances stood out from the pack.

1) This was the honorary performance for record producer J. Prince featuring The Game, Juvenile (who tore up the place), and Drake (who is starting to grow on me)

2) The second performance was the Jermaine Dupri honorary performance featuring Dupri, Lil Bow Wow (who is still little), Dem Franchize Boyz, Lil Jon, and P. Diddy (who I'm pretty sure was the only rapper lip singing, cause he's too rich to actually do his own singing)

Hottest Rap of 2010

I'm starting to like rap more than sports

B.G. - Chopper City Is An Army .mp3

B.G. aka Baby Gangsta started out as one of the New Orleans natives to form Cash Money Millionaires in the late 90's along with Juvenile, Lil Wayne, Turk, Birdman, and Mannie Fresh. Wow, that starting 5 has more talent than the Miami Heat. BG subsequently left the group over money and started putting out his own albums. A relative unknown in the rap world, BG has put out amazing albums and even greater singles. He has easily entered my top 5 all-time rappers, although Juvenile still ranks a spot ahead. Chopper City is an Army is one of the top raps i've ever heard and the first verse is golden. I think it's time B.G. gets his due, before he kills someone or something..

First Cool Thing To Happen On Jimmy Fallon

Best Rap Lyric Ever - B.I.G.

At the 2:40 mark. "Super Nintendo Sega Genesis. When i was dead broke man I couldn't picture this"

Rap + Sports = Genius

Taylor Swift is good but this is one of the greatest raps of all-time. I SAID OF ALL-TIME! LISTEN TO ME!!!

I also love the live performance where nobody even bothers to pretend to sing.

More rap sports references

"Have a nigga who smoke Reggie Miller
Coughing and choking constantly"

"I hit the pussy like i'm Andruw Jones"
