Before speaking with reporters after the Cubs' 6-5 loss at Detroit, Soto released a statement saying he was "embarrassed by my lapse in judgment" in riding the canni-bus.
Soto then downed an entire family size bag of Fritos. (OK, we can't confirm that last part.)"While I full acknowledge my inappropriate behavior, I want to assure my fans and my family that this was an isolated incident," Soto added.
News flash: no one cares. The WBC is bullshit and the next one is four years away.
How is not playing in the WBC considered a punishment?
ReplyDeleteWhat punishment. The next Olympics is 3 years out and the next WBC is 3.5 years out. A 2 ban from international baseball (esp with no MLB consequences) is a joke when no international baseball of significance (not that the Olympics or WBC count as significant exhibitions) takes place over the course of the suspension.
ReplyDeleteObviously, weed-usage isn't the biggest deal in the world, but if you are going to penalize someone for something, actually penalize them. Imagine if MLB gave Manny a 100 DAY suspension from baseball starting November 10.
