I'm ready for the royal wedding

At least i can now shave off my playoff beard..or not

  • Corey Crawford deserves to advance to round 2, the rest can go home
  • The level of clutchness cannot be measured, but unfortunately the final score can
  • I cant watch sports movies because they are fake, sports are real. Thats the point
  • Anyone who questions why sports even exists, the answer is simple. If they didnt, men would still compete, probably to the death. This way there at least exists rules
  • This is also why most women do not, and really should not get sports. The only thing they really need to compete for is the right sperm(not to graphic i hope)
  • Catharsis is probably not the best way to manage stress, especially with fragile things around..but
  • Playoff sports is like watching the greatest horror movie ever with a plastic bag over your head while while getting kneed in the groin. All the pepto in the world wont do you any good
  • For 10 years i had no clue what good hockey was, because i never saw it. Thanks to Kane and Toews, i now do
  • And no, i am not shaving off this beauty. It's too sweet!

GOI Fantasy Basketball Team After 2 Months

We are two months into the basketball season so I figured we should look at how TBO and myself are doing in the GOI league. We both struggled early on in the first few weeks, but once the schedule evened out a bit, both of our teams contiunted to do better untill we moved towards the top. Currently I am in 1st with TBO in 3rd, but were pretty close point wise, especially this early in the season.

This is how were doing in each category:

As you see I am doing terrbile in BLK's, 3PTM, and FT%.

Earlier I did a post on how TBO and my team came out after the draft. This is how my roster currently looks:
Darren Collison is killing me in points, assists, and steals. I thought he would play liked he did last year when he filled in for the inured Chris Paul, but he has not settled into a groove yet in Indiana. Blake Griffin started out slow, but has been a double double guy of late. Andre Miller has saved me as my second point guard considering Collison has done nothing. I didn't expect much from Rashard Lewis and Vince Carter, and they still let me down.........................

Here is a look at TBO Team anchored by shooting:
As you see he has a lot of shooters, but some struggling ones in Tyreke Evans, Gilbert Arenas, Louis Williams, and Baron Davis (who I thought he hates!) all shooting below .400, ouch! That hurts!! Luckily he has Rose, Anthony, Howard, Martin, and Beasley to bring his FG% up.

If you play in the GOI Fantasy Basketball League and want to be included in future updates plese let us know.

Meet the GOI Fantasy Basketball League 2010-2001 Season

Were in the middle of December and haven't talked about this year's Game Of Inches Fantasy basketball League for the 2010-2011 season. This is the 2nd annual GOI Fantasy Basketball league, which drafted almost two months ago at the end of October a week before the 2010 Basketball season started. Like last year, TBO and myself are the only two Contributors from GOI that wanted to play in a competitive fantasy basketball season. Both of us really get into the basketball season and Fantasy basketball. Don't get my off on the tangent on why fantasy basketball isn't that popular and not many good outlets on it. For this reason I am going to try and convince TBO to do a all fantasy basketball podcast soon.

Back to the the GOI Fantasy Basketball league. It is a 10 team Rotisserie league with 10 starting spots and 5 bench spots. It sounds like a shallow league with 10 teams, but with all the roster and bench spots the players become pretty scarce on the Free agent market. You can argue that many of those players can hurt your team because they are so one dimensional. The Players Stat Categories are: Field Goal Percentage (FG%), Free Throw Percentage (FT%), 3-point Shots Made (3PTM), Points Scored (PTS), Total Rebounds (REB), Assists (AST), Steals (ST), and Blocked Shots (BLK). Most notably we do not have Turnovers count. That is the one big difference between this league and Standard leagues.

Now to the point of this post, to talk about how the draft went in general, my team, and TBO team. I know we have some loyal GOI readers in the league. If you would like me to talk about your team in future GOI Fantasy Basketball League Updates please e-mail us or post in the comments section letting me know. In Fantasy Football we give a weekly update, but for football we will try to give monthly updates.

I had the 7th pick in the draft and TBO had the 8th pick. Then when we flipped back arround he picked in front of me by a pick. It was hard to have him so close to me because I was worried he may steal some players I wanted which he did with Andray Blatche. This was a Live Snake draft and we were on the phone together for the whole draft talking about the flow of it and which players we were targeting to some degree. TBO and myself have big strategy differences in Fantasy basketball and many players we have different opinions on. So we both knew the players the other's wouldn't take (me with Dwight Howard).

With Fantasy Baseball and Football I can tell confidently tell you what players I would want to take with my first pick. I think I can find the safe solid picks with your early picks. In basketball it isn't that clear to me. If I had the first pick I would like Kevin Durant, but I see risk with Chris Paul, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Dwight Howard, Kobe Bryant, Danny Granger, Pau Gasol, and Amar'e Stoudemire. Obviously I am doing this post draft summary two months late so my concerns about Pau Gasol, and Amar'e Stoudemire not being good 1st or 2nd round picks is obviously wrong by their strong play so far. I saw Gasol, Granger, and Wade as injury concern. The rest I could see just underperforming the justification for a top pick. There were many middle round guys I liked a lot, many as you will see I didn't get.
About Cubsfan4evr1 and TBO Picks

With my first round pick (7th overall) it was a no brainer for me to take Deron Williams. Stephen Curry went the pick before or I would have taken him. TBO drafted Dwight Howard 8th overall. I didn't even think of taking Howard because of the terrible FT% and sporadic point totals in the past. The other guys I liked I was hoping would fall back to me with my second pick. There aren't many Small forwards I am a big fan of, and one of them was Carmelo Anthony who TBO took right before me with his second pick. Anthony can obviously help in PTS, FG%, FT%, and 3pt so he is a solid all around shooter. With my second pick I took Brook Lopez. That way I have a point guard and center to anchor my team. I was hoping Lopez would be similar to Howard helping in all the categories finishing second to Howard in Blk's and rebounds with a better ft%, but that hasn't happened yet.

With my third pick and 27 overall pick I made a BIG mistake. I was hoping to add another PG or a center. Rajon Rondo went off the board 19th overall so then I was hoping for Al Horford who would be a good complement to Lopez, but he went right before me. So then with not much time I had to decide between Darren Collison and Russell Westbrook. I liked both a lot and was hoping I could get both with the other falling to my 4th pick only 4 picks away. I asked TBO and he said to take Collison and that was a big mistake. Collison barley plays, especially in the 4th quarter. He looks nothing like he did at the end of last season when he filled in for the injured Chris Paul and was great. Westbrook who did not fall back to me has been amazing. Considering how great Westbrook has been and the lack of much contributions from Collison who was a terrible 3rd round pick, my team would be so much better with Williams and Westbrook as my 2 point guards. If I don't win this league I will be kicking myself for that move, because I should have played it safe. TBO took Derrick Rose with his third round pick.

In the 4th round TBO took Tyreke Evans and I took Zach Randolph who I thought was a steal for the 4th round a double/double machine with good shooting percentages. In retrospect LaMarcus Aldridge who went 6th picks later and Marc Gasol who went 8 picks later might have been a better option. Both were on my list of players to target, but I had Randolph higher. I like Randolph, but both would have helped me better in Blk's and rebounds, a weakness of my team.

In the 5th round I needed a small forward so I took Stephen Jackson who does a little of everything and TBO got a stud shooter in Kevin Martin. Then TBO took Andray Blatche one pick before I was going to take him. I wanted some inside shooting, rebounds, and steals. So then I settled for Blake Griffin who has been underperforming so far. he helps in pts, rebounds, and assists, but not blocks, rebounds, or steals that I need from my centers. With my 7th round I was really hoping for Andrew Bogut, but he went 66th overall, so with my 67th pick scrambling I took Rashard Lewis. I passed up Paul Millsap. With my next pick I took Eric Gordon if I really needed some shooting and TBO surprised me with taking Chris Kaman who I thought he didn't like. My 9th pick was Andre Miller who has been amazing and has saved me because of Collison's bad play so far. Miller was supposed to be my 2nd point guard, but has played like I thought Collison would. TBO took Michael Beasley if he needed some big men. After that my final 5 picks have not been so hot.

Here was the team I drafted:

Here is the team TBO drafted:

TBO and Sexy Rexy Reunite For A Long Awaited Podcast

New podcast on a newish site. Listen here!

SEXY REXY'S EDITOR'S NOTE: If you'd like a mp3 file of the podcast to listen to it on your iPod, email gameofinchesblog@gmail.com. Sorry for the technical difficulties, we're working on putting this momentous podcast to our iTunes account

I feel cheated like Eva Longoria. Zing!

Is TBO really writing a post? Is TBO even alive? Is TBO referring to himself in the 3rd person pseudonym? Why yes, yes I am

So how can I possibly be comparing my situation to that of the sluttiest of the Desperate Housewives Eva Longoria? She was played by her younger, richer, Frencher hubby Tony Parker. Seriously, guys need to learn how to delete incriminating emails/texts. Now Eva will have to take to talents to South Beach in search for another athlete husband. How sad

Me on the other hand, i've been whipped for 20 years by a mistress called sports. For as long as i can remember, it has consumed my life to the point where I am basically committed till the end, you know for the kids. The good has definitely overshadowed the bad when it comes to my experience with sports. It entertains me, stimulates me, and may i say completes me, boo who hoo. I even got to experienced a Stanley Cup and and an Antonio Alfonseca handful of NBA championships.

However, there has always been a part of my relationship with sports that has disappointed me every holiday season. A time of joy and celebrations smeared by the greed of the rich and wealthy. Yes, of course, I am speaking of the BCS

I have been a big fan of college football since the days of Peter Warrick killing the Hurricanes every labor labor day. However, after watching the SEC religiously every Saturday in 2007, college football has become the queen to baseball's king. But what is a sports without a championship? Every seasons concludes anticlimactically with a championship game between 2 teams subjectively chosen by a computer. What is this, baseball?

This same argument is made every time this time of year, but I not claiming that this is an inadequate system. I am claiming that my life's sporting experience is being cheated away from me by a faceless institution. I dont even know who to point my anger at? There is no one individual like a commissioner, CEO, or president to blame for this injustice. How can people fight and protest for change when we dont even know who's in charge.

Proponents of the system claim the BCS system is best for numerous reasons
  1. It's always been that way, why mess with tradition
  2. It makes every regular season game matter
  3. College athletes cant play 16 game schedules
  4. Small schools benefit from playing in crappy bowl games
  5. It makes everyone a crapload of money
Let me lay out the perfect playoff system for college football

The regular season remains basically unchanged. Every team plays 11 games instead of 12. Eliminate one out of conference game making it 3 out and 8 in conference games. Eliminate the conference championship games. The point of the conference championship game is give an automatic bid to a BCS game. Regardless how bad the ACC or Big East may be, one of their crappy teams will ruin your New Years Day. Eliminate all the Human and Coaches poles from consideration and only use the BCS computer standings to determine the Top 25. Eliminate the preseason polls. No one knows how good a team full of 20 year old sex starved gangsters is going to perform on the field. Teams in the preseason top 16 who turned out horrible: Florida, Texas, VT, USC, Pitt, GT. It has too large an impact on the ranking going forward. Everyone starts with a clean slate and computer algorithms should decide who ranks where. Sit back and enjoy the regular season as a build up to the grand daddy of 'em all the BCS Playoff!

To all the tradition geeks, the Bowl games are here to stay, just in a slightly different format. Only the top 16 teams in the BCS poll enter the playoff system, the rest of the bowl eligible teams fill out the remaining 30 bowl games. Currently there are 5 BCS games. Sugar, Orange, Fiesta, and Rose, with one getting duplicated for a 5th game and designated The National Championship game.

Normally, the 30 non-BCS bowls get played out through most of December, with the BCS bowls played between Jan1 and the 2nd Monday of January if I recall correctly. This creates a huge problem in that the Championship game is usually played 40-50 days after the conclusion of the regular season. I recall Ohio St. in 2007 having some 51 days between their last reg season game and the championship game. Needless to say they got manhandled by Florida. Instead, they can use the NFL style and play playoff games every weekend leading up to the final the first week of the new year.

Week 1, Sweat 16: 8 games. 1v16, 2v15 ...
Week 2, Elite 8: 4 games
Week 3, Final 4: 2 games
Week 4, Championship Game

The playoff games are played at the usual 4 BCS sites, with each alternating the Championship Game every 4 years. Or maybe get creative and go outside the BCS stadiums for the championship. Who wouldnt want to see the final game at the hoarse shoe, the big house, or death valley.

So why 16 teams and not more or less. This is a subjective number, but my experience tells me that most years any team in the top 16 BCS ranking can upset any team in the first 2 rounds. The 16 seed beating the 1 is absolutely not out of the question. This isnt basketball. I say it would happen about 1 out of every 4 years. Based on what poll you look at, the 16 seed right now would be either Nebraska, Missouri, or Virginia Tech. Nebraska already beat Missouri. Missouri already beat Oklahoma. And VT has dominated every game since losing the first 2 of the season. You cant tell me they dont stand a chance against Oregon.

Once we get down to the Elite 8, anything goes. There will be no favorites. Just chaos. Stanford v Auburn. Boise v Alabama. LSU v Wisconsin. Ohio St v Oregon. The only downside is students all over the land failing Fall finals from all the excitement.

Or just keep the crappy system as is. Cant wait to wait 50 days to see Auburn rape Boise St

Fuck You Malcolm In The Middle

Jeez, we're trying.

P.S. You were like my 6th favorite brother on that show
  1. Dewey
  2. Francis
  3. Reese
  4. The black kid in the wheelchair(brotha from a different motha)
  5. Anyone other than you

Box Score Tonight: TBO version aka The good version

Sexy Rexy is taking a sabbatical to go backpacking through Europe and transverse the Indian Ocean on a 15 foot sail boat solo. Trip will culminate at the Great Wall of China where SR will spray pain GOI on the wall in 50 foot increments. We expect him back for week 9, 2027

-Bears shock the world and pull off the "upset" against the Packers. The final Drive, a la John Elway, was super sweat after Aaron Rodgers made a WWE World Championship belt motion around his waist after running for the score late in the 4th. Yeah, you look like a big man Aaron Rodgers. Try winning the game or beating Brett Favre once before you anoint yourself the G.O.A.T.
-Devin Aromasshodu and Tommy Harris are both healthy scratches for the game. Apparently DA refuses to play the slot receiver spot and Harris just sucks. D/N matter how many hats you sign at training camp buddy
-The running game was non existent for either team. Rodgers out-passed Cutler by 100 yards, but took 18 more attempts to do so. Jermichael Finley is making a case to be the top TE catching 9 balls on 9 targets.
-Devin Hester is back, kinda sorta, with a 62 yard TD punt return. His 12th career return to the hizzy
-KC slapped around the 0-3 49ers, but once again Jones gets more carries, but Charles gets more yards with a 8.1 YPC. Frank Gore made a plea to be a run first team, so the 49ers ran 15 times all game. Goodbye offensive coordinator
-Brett Favre continued being old with a 68 passer rating, but AD picked up the slack with an 80 yard TD run. Hank Baskett made his triumphant return with a holding penalty and 2 drops. At least he didnt "recover" an onside kick with his face mask this time
-Detroit Lions have one weapon. His name is Calvin Johnson. How has he only touched the ball 14 times in 3 games. Just lob it up to him Shaun Hill
-Patriots defense continues to look shaky as they give up 30 points to the Harvard grad Ryan Fitzpatrick led Bills. He did get 2 scores from CJ Spiller. He went to Clemson (Harvard of the South).
-With Maroney traded to the Broncos, the law firm of Ben Jarvis Green Ellis ran 16 times for 98 yards and a score. Brady and his Beiber haircut dominate as Moss catches 2 balls both for scores
- I told Cubsfan not to be surprised if Garrett Hartley doesn't last the season with the Saints before the season. After missing a chip shot to win the game in OT, Saints sign 46 year old John Carney as "insurance" and my prediction is that much closer to reality.
-Tony G grabs 100 yards and a score while Lance "dont call me bass" Moore caught 150 and 2 TDs on the day. Pierre Thomas sucks again. Sexy Rexy put away the Aloe, wherever you are
-Chris Johnson had a horrible day, yet still ran for 125 and 3 scores on 32 carries.
-Giants are in free fall as a team. Put up a ton of yards as usual but leads to only 10 points
-Steelers continue to dominate without Big Ben. This team will be super scary when they can start a QB besides Charlie Batch's corpse. Mendenhall runs for 150 again, get the KY Jelly SR, and Mike Wallace does his best DeShawn Jackson impersonation with 3 catches for 100 yards and 2 TDs.
-Only positive from Bucks side is 55 yards from Syracuse rookie Mike Williams and 3 catches for Illini rookie Arrelious Benn, who still doesnt have a good QB to get him the damn ball playa
-I liked Jimmy Clausen as a college QB. But I can't see him on the pro level. He responds with a 53 QB rating, which I think will be a common occurrence. Panthers need to run the ball on every down. Not joking
-Carson Palmer had an even worse rating than Clausen. While Ochocinco and TO combine for 8 catches on 21 targets Shipley goes 3-3 and Oklahoma monster TE Jermaine Gresham goes 4-6. Owens was a mistake and I would imagine him getting phased out pretty soon...By another tv show
-Ravens has themselves a great day after an abysmal performance against the Bungels. Flacco throws for 3 TDs all to Anquan Boldin. Boldin also threw 1 pass for -6 yards, yet his QB rating was 30 points higher than Palmer/Clausen
-Browns get 144 yards on the ground from Peyton "not a hick" Hillis. Cribbs remains the top receiving option for former Iowa State QB great Seneca Wallace
-Roy Williams, no not the former safety, not not the head coach of the UNC, the former Longhorn/Lions great finally woke up from his self induced coma to score 2 TDs. A much needed win for the 'Boys but Barber gets 17 carrier to Jones' 7. Wat up wit dat holmes?
-Arian Forster has transformed himself from a heavy, no break away speed back in Houston, to an absolute Lebron James type body athletic freak who runs for 100 yards in his sleep. I lub dub this guy. Though he did have a big fumble so I guess Sexy Rexy will hate him eternally
-I think Dan Snyder made a bet with the Devil and lost big time. No matter how much money he spends on the team, he can not catch a break. Losing to the Rams may be a new low. They respond by cutting Larry "I swear I'm not white" Johnson. That's the ticket! McNabb old, Portis old, Deangelo Hall bad, Shawn Taylor dead, Haynesworth AWOL, Moss short. I do like Landy, Rogers, and Orokpo. At least until the devil comes back for more fun
-Steven Jackson may be out with a minor injury, but Bradford is holding up well for a rookie QB with little talent around him. BTW, Chris Long is one of the biggest busts in NFL history. In 35 games, dude has 59 tackles and 9 sacks. My grandma could do that cracker
-Welcome to the Michael Vick experience. That terrible, horrible, dog killing felon leads the NFL with a 111 QB rating, which doesnt include rushing totals which he can do pretty well. 4 total TDs. Deshawn Jackson has to be the fastest guy in the league with another 150 yard performance.
-David Garrard had a 39 QB rating and that is being generous. 105 yards on 30 attempts? My 9 year old niece could do that while watching Wizards of Waverly Place. Dont pretend like you dont watch it, your not better than me. But really, if there's no one to see the Jaguars play, did it really happen? Why yes, yes it did
-Peyton Manning is good at football. He would def be my first pick for Thankgiving 2 hand touch in the backyard. Austin Collie led the world with 12 catches on 16 targets 171 yards and 2 TD. If only Champ Bailey could cover both sides of the field, if only
-Orton washed the Jack Daniels out of his bum beard and threw for 476 yards in the loss of course. Steve Spurrier protege Gaffney had 140 yards while former Illini great, get ready Sexy Rexy cause this is your lucky night, Brandon Llyod had 169 (haha 69) yards and a 2 point conversion
-Matt Leinart must be laughing somewhere right now as Derek Anderson completes less than 50% of his passes. Again. Although a couple TD catches bail them out. Fitzgerald's 12 catches are jealous of Calvin Johnson's 14.
-Raiders get nice performances from Gradkoswki, Run DMC gets 100 yards for the 3rd straight week, and Florida great Louis Murphy is the top receiver on the team, though Hayward-Bey gets 11 targets. Janikowski missed 3 field goals which is bad when you lose by 1
-The Seahawks are 2-1, Carroll must be paying his players, oh wait thats allowed now. No stars on offense but they forced 3 turnovers which won the game.
-Rivers throws for 455 in the loss. I dont think anyone has ever thrown for 450 yards in a win. Just not a good sign. Maybe they could have gotten 500 with Vincent Jackson who is still at home not getting a paycheck
-It's always sunny in NY if your a Jets fan. Sanchez good, Tomlinson back from the dead, Edwards not in jail scoring touchdowns. Life is good, until Sanchez shows his inner Derek Anderson. Dude is not accurate, but if Eli can win a SB, why cant Sanchez
-Forgetting Brandon Marshall catches 10 for 166 despite everyone in the stadium knowing the ball was going to him. Ronnie in completes one pass and has a QB rating higher than David Garrard

If you got this far, good for you! Here's a trivia question. Which Jet got boooooed the loudest against the Dolphins?

Until next week, we..are..OUT!

TBO's Infamous Hole In The Wall

Cubs lost, threw baseball at the couch, missed couch, destroyed living room wall. Must have happened 10 years ago.

Since then it has been masterfully covered up with a crystal ball

Finally, the legend has visual proof

TBO Fantasy Baseball Med School League

Yours truly TBO is represented by the neon green line and it beautifully documents my journey to first place. After not managing the team until mid may, I have been tweaking my team in just the perfect ways to get back to first place. I was down nearly 40 points to my buddy Mitchell when the summer began, but have finally caught up to him this morning! In fact, I have made some very bold adds/drops on this team to specifically add to my stolen base and average totals. Something I probably wouldn't do in our GOI fantasy leagues because there is actual money on the line. Hopefully I can use some of the strategies I learned in this league to take down the "expert league" in the coming years.

Just like Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer have done, I wish to one day win the grand slam of fantasy sports. Win the snake draft/auction draft baseball, auction draft football, and snake draft GOI basketball league, preferably in the same calendar year. I am The 'Bright' One. How do I not have any championship rings yet!?

TBO vs Sexy Rexy vs *Cubsfan* QB Ranking

Only difference is my ranking includes Matt Leinart and Sexy Rexy's does not, oh and the fact that SR's is completely wrong.

The GOI Football Draft Wrap-Up Special, Part IV

Everyone is doing a review of the GOI fantasy football draft auction so apparently I need one as well.

First of all, DME who was kicked out of the league, probably cause he never wins fantasy, was in my ear on the phone for my first 5 selections. I didn't do extensive research and didn't partake in any mock drafts. Instead I decided to not let price get in the way of the players I wanted. For some reason in auction drafts, people become very stringent in how much they are willing to pay for a player. Oh, I will pay not pay more than 25 dollars for Roddy Roddy White, even though I really love him and believe he can single handedly win me a couple weeks of fantasy football. Sure, sometimes you get into a bidding war and 2 dollars above budget becomes 4 then 6 then 8, but you cannot worry about the future when it comes to auction. This concept is not the same as going stars and scrubs like DME did in baseball where you spend all your money on 3 guys, this is simply extending your budget a few dollars that you may not even need later in the draft. The bench if fairly inconsequential to a fantasy football team. Each player only has 1 bye week and you can probably find a better option in FA once the season starts than anyone you actually drafted.

Football is probably the least skilled sport of any of the top 10 you can think of. The players who dominate tend to be the ones with the freakish athletic ability. I grew up watching Miami-Florida St dominate college football in the late 90's and no one had more freaks than those Florida teams. That was my strategy, simple as that.

There have been too many NFL season's where a single running back has literally won entire fantasy leagues. Whether it be Priest Holmes, Larry Johnson, LT, or Chris Johnson. So it is crazy important to get a top RB and hopefully the top RB. I made the decision that AD, whom I still call AP, was the running back to go with. His athleticism is undeniable with an amazing combination of size, strength, and speed. Only 2 years ago people were anointing him the greatest of all time, and now he is becoming overrated because he fumbled a couple times. It is almost a given that he will lead all running backs in TDs and possibly will lead in yards. His passing skills are suspect, but 43 receptions last year is no chump change and only 7 less than Chris Johnson with an identical average. I love love love CJ, but to think that he can break off 3 80-yard runs again is kinda nuts. I was willing to do whatever for AP, but getting him at $65 while guys like MJD, Rice, and Turner went for the same or more was a huge steal.

I was willing to play the season without a top tier QB such as a Cutler, Palmer, Flacco type, but seeing the prices QBs were going for, I decided it was worth the $36 I paid for Brees. In fact, it was DME who was urging me to stay in the bidding war for Brees which I ended up winning, such that I felt a little bad for spending so much for a QB after paying 65 for AP. But then I thought to myself, how can i feel bad about a QB who throws for 4500 yards and 30 TDs like clockwork.

I bypassed a lot of RBs who I really liked, such as a Charles, Slaton, Jacobs, Mathews simply because I had my top guy at running back locked up. I took a gamble on Run DMC hoping the retards who run the Raiders would stop giving 10 carries each to a clusterfuck of RBs and just make McFadden the featured back. Dude invented the wildcat and may be the greatest college player I've ever seen. Yes, Bush had better numbers in the Pac-10, but Run DMC ran over the entire SEC, without even a marginal QB, and ran for 200 yards against LSU and Alabama. If he played for any other team in the NFL, be would already be in the pro-bowl. I knew this was a dangerous pick, but I made it knowing full well that I was getting Reggie Bush at any cost. I figure that combination of #2/3 RB was a winning complement along side AP. (Side note, I thought Forte at $26 was the steal of the entire draft)

To me, the WR position is like starting pitchers in fantasy baseball. I value them very low because I feel I can find suitable options later in the draft or even FA instead of wasting top picks on them. Sure we all want King Felix, but i'll settle with Clayton Kershaw 8 rounds later. WR simply do not get enough touches on a weekly bases to be worth the money. We complain that Pierre Thomas only got 184 touches last year. Well every great WR not named Andre Johnson only gets 80-90 touches for the whole season! I completely disregarded the whole PPR concept. The difference between 70 and 90 catches is only 10 points over the course of 16 weeks. Who the fuck cares? I stuck to my freak athlete theory and got great value in Marques Colston, who is a top 5 WR talent and is only hindered by having too many weapons around him, and DeShawn Jackson who in the words of Kenny Powers is faster than fuck. My only worry is having Kolb throwing to him. Sorry Cubsfan but Kolb will show up in your nightmares this season. Getting Mike Wallace was a bonus as he is basically a Jackson clone with no Holmes standing in his way. Though I love Santonio Holmes. Then I drafted a barrel of WRs hoping to use as trade bait in Henderson, Heyward-Bay, Moore, and Cribbs.

There is usually a very small point differential between TEs, so no need to overpay for any. None appear to be great/in their prime to really consider spending money on them this year. Only guy who I see as having potential to dominate this year is Witten and that is unlikely. My comp actually logged off for me and autopicked Kellen Winslow, which I had no problem with as he fits the athletic freak category and played for The U.

No chance I pay for a kicker, so I got Sebastian Janikowski for a dollar. He did play for those Florida St. teams i loved so much and the Raiders should score more points this year. Oh and he's the best 50 yard kicker in the game and those are worth 5 points I believe. Maybe I pick up Rob Bironas if he is dropped by a team with 2 kickers.

I payed less than no attention to defense thinking I would just get on in FA or just stream every week like I usually do, until I saw the Cowboys just sitting there for me. They only have the best defensive lineman in Ware, a stellar secondary, and a 3-4 defense that is very prone to fantasy related stats.

Overall I was extremely happy with how my team turned out. Regardless whether I win or lose, I can feel satisfied knowing i am playing with the team I wanted.

Like Marshawn Lynch when he finds out he's gonna be a baby's daddy again, I am OUT!
