2011 Draft Special: Pick #20- Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This team's corp skill positions consist of quarterback Josh Freeman, running back LaGarrette Blount, and wide receivers Mike Williams (not of Seattle) and Regis Benn. This team will be good for a long, long time. At the minimum they'll have a fun offense for the next four to five years. This team does have the obstacle of playing in the NFC South with teams like the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints, but this team has the talent to compete and contend. This team has shown to draft well and compete in games. However, the biggest problem with the Bucs is that they (for the most part) beat the teams they "should" beat but could not beat the playoff caliber teams. If you want to prove your good then you have to beat the best. The Bucs have the talent to do so, but actually accomplishing this goal comes with taking your lumps like they did during the 2010 campaign. I expect big things from this team in 2011.

This team has the offensive talent to make it to playoff games but they don't have the defense just yet to win playoff games. According to Football Outsiders this team ranked 23rd in total defense. The good news is that they ranked 13th in pass defense (which is amazing considering Ronde Barber is 35 years old. Although I guess playing across from an elite corner like Aquib Talib will do that do a player) but dead last in rush defense. However, this team is still young and still should be in rebuilding mode, but they need to focus on defense more than offense.

According to Scout's Inc, the best player left is defensive end Adrian Clayborn. Mel Kiper has Mark Ingram as the best available player and Cameron Jordan (defensive end) as the best defensive player available. There are certain organizations out there that I believe actually do know what they're doing and are smarter than me and Tampa Bay has proven to me that they have reached this level. But for the purposes of this mock draft, I say the Bucs draft Cameron Jordan- defensive end out of Cal.
