GOI Fantasy Basketball League Final Results

The 2010 basketball regular season is over and with that so is the Game Of Inches Fantasy basketball league. We have followed the league throughout the season so here are the final results:
TBO made an incredible run from starting out slow to finish in second place. He barely beat out the next team for that second place finish. Thank you everyone for playing and following the league!

GOI Fantasy Basketball League Update

Game of Inches has a fantasy basketball league that is coming down to the home stretch with only a month left of the regular season. I have been giving periodic updates throughout this season and have surprising news in this update for those who have been following the league. Two contributors from GOI, Cubsfan4evr1 and The ‘Bright’ One are in the league.
On November 17th, 2009 I gave the first update of the seasonafter a month. As you can see to start the season I was in first place with The 'Bright' One in 5th place. Here is how the point total looked:

1st Place) Cubsfan4evr- 86 Points
5th Place) The 'Bright' One- 54.5
As I said on November 17th “We all know that “The 'Bright' One” knows
basketball and Fantasy sports considering the great job he did with his fantasy
baseball team considering the injuries several of his key players had. Thus, we
will see his team improve over the season.”
On December 30th, 2009 I gave the second update for the league and the last one I reported on this blog. At the end of December I dropped to second place, but was only a few points out and still in competition for first place.
That takes us to today where I have regained first place for today, but not by much. I am in first place with 74 points. The team in second place has 72.5 points. The team in second place is TBO who has had an incredible run the past two months to go from sixth place to second place and threatening me for first place. He can easily win this league now, where a few months ago it looked like he would have a hard time even finishing in the top three!! As TBO said in his own words “this may be the greatest comeback in fantasy sports history” and he is defiantly right! As I said then “The 'Bright' One is currently in 6th place, but usually does
make a push in the second half as we have learned from fantasy baseball and
fantasy football.” TBO always seems to start slow and make a run………………………………..
The top four teams are within four points of each other so any of those four teams have a chance to take the league. Look to the final update in about a month to see who wins! Me or The 'Bright' One dueling it out!

GOI Fantasy Basketball League Update
Posted by
Cubsfan4evr
on Wednesday, December 30, 2009
Every week throughout football season we gave an update of the GOI Fantasy Football League so here is an update of the GOI Fantasy Basketball team after two months.
After One month I was in first place. Now I Cubsfan4evr, have droped to second palce. The person in first place has 79 points and I have 78.5. It is very close and daily it seems the two of us in first and second place keep swapping places. At first glance my team doesn't look that good. I have no players in the top 25 for points scored. My team is also not doing well in free throw percentage and field goal percentage. The free throw percentage is a result of having many bg guys on my team who normally don't do as well in free throws. My team is very good at rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks. lets hope I can get my way back into first. I feel that this will be a back and forth battle for the rest of the season.
The 'Bright' One is currently in 6th place, but usually does make a push in the second half as we have learned from fantasy baseball and fantasy football. We do have one team that has a team with star power with Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, Carlos Boozer, Joe Johnson, and on a lesser level Brandon Jennings, Eric Gordon, and Richard Hamilton who can all score. This team is only in 5th place, even with such a loaded roster because he doesn’t have a well balanced team which is what you need for fantasy sports.
We will see how the league shapes up over the course of the rest of the season.

A year ago we created this blog Game of Inches. Our one year anniversary was two days ago on Tuesday December 8th, 2009. All of our loyal readers should know that from our posts on that day: Call Me Crazy, But Bert Blyleven Deserves To Be In The Hall Of Fame, We're On A Mission...Year 2, and A Special Day.
Even though our Anniversary was two years ago, it doesn't mean that just December 8th is special. This whole month is special for Game Of Inches! So please, this month tell all of your friends about us, have them check us out and please give us your feedback to the blog and to the articles by leaving comments.
Our first Post ever, by David "MVP" Eckstein:
We're on a mission...
Our second post, and first sports related by Sexy Rexy:
Kerry Collins for MVP!!!
We had 64 posts last December and our goal is to surpass that number this December. We currently have 1150 posts for 2009, but we still have a few weeks left. Thanks for reading and tell your friends!

As you should know by now (from the two previous posts), this is a very special day for Game Of Inches. That is because a year ago we started this blog! All four of us have had a great time writing and working on this blog over the last year. We hope that all of our readers have enjoyed Game of Inches. Having four writers, we are able to bring you a variety of stories covering different sports. David "MVP" Eckstein and Sexy Rexy have already posted why we created this site and the goal of it. We hope that you enjoy it.
Over the Course of the past year we have already branched out from just being a blog. You can follow us on Twitter and listen to our podcats. We also have a facebook group. We would like to hear from you any feedback you have about the blog and what we do. Please e-mail us at gameofinchesblog@gmail.com.
Thanks for all of your support over the last year! Please tell your friends about us and spread the word!

Game Of Inches has a Fantasy Basketball league so I decided I will do updates on it throughout the season that way we do with our fantasy football league. Only two of our writers are in the league; "The 'Bright' One" and myself “Cubsfan4evr". I know we also have some readers in the league. Today I will just post how "The 'Bright' One" and "Cubsfan4evr" are doing, but if you read the blog regularly let me know by posting a comment or contacting me directly and I will track your status next time.
1st Place) Cubsfan4evr- 86 Points
5th Place) The 'Bright' One- 54.5
We all know that “The 'Bright' One” knows basketball and Fantasy sports considering the great job he did with his fantasy baseball team considering the injuries several of his key players had. Thus, we will see his team improve over the season.

Not to rehash the greatest moment in Game Of Inches history, obviously referring to my Caleb Hanie video, but some of the comments for the video on youtube are quite hilarious. The last one is almost incomprehensible. I want to know who this person is and where they are from, so I can contact him/her and find out what this statement actually means
he actully thought orton was going ta be on thise team and wen he got cut that he will start after orton but then wen he got trade he to denver he said fuck i might be cutYeah, i dont speak stupid

At the Chicago Bears training camp, Boers and Bernstein from The Score 670 were broadcasting on remote from Bourbonais, Illinois. Since DME decided not to come with us, due to his hatred of all sports non-baseball. I called him up and told him that we were watching live and that he should immediately call into the score. Within minutes, he is on the air talking about how much Carlos Marmol sucks and has been sucking more and more every year.
The video recording missed the beginning of the call where DME gives a much deserved shout-out to GOI, but the rest is part of GOI history.
