Guess Who?

This is a tough one. I am trying to think who played for the Yankees, Braves, and Reds. I am baffled by that gap in their career. They didn’t play from 1997 to 2001? Four years is a big gap and most recovery from injuries don’t take that long, especially for position players. I also find it unusual that this player didn’t accumulate more AB or PA in a season besides 1997 because they obviously had good speed by their SB so why didn’t they lead off? I am having a hard time who played for all three teams, or mostly the Braves and Reds for the bulk of their career which is short. Two weird things about this player. My guesses may not make senses in terms of who played for all three teams, but I guess I will make some guesses based on who was good on the Braves and Reds. I am thinking of Ryan Klesko, Terry Pendleton, David Justice, Fred McGriff, Ron Grant, Barry Larkin, and Reggie Sanders. I think Pendleton and Grant played with both the Reds and Braves. I don’t think any of these guys are fast enough to steal all of those bases though. Maybe Grant or Sanders could steal some bases from that group, but 56 in one season seems way too much for any of these guys. I know I am forgetting a lot of players because it is hard to think back to that time and who was on each team, so I could be mixing up the time frame a bit. I have problems with all of these players so I doubt they are it. The two weird things I pointed out with the player’s stats are probably clues to someone I am forgetting who missed a lot of time, so that’s probably why I don’t remember them.

When you post the answer you need to tell me why they missed so much time and didn’t get more at-bats.

Deion Sanders played for both!! Playing two sports explains the lack of at-bats. I have spent the last 10 minutes in bed trying to sleep, but it was bothing me so much. That shouldn't have taken me so long. Hopefully now i can sleep.
