How bad are the fucking Yankees? Not only did two pitchers each give up 8 ER in 3 IP, but the Yankees bullpen also gave up another 8 runs throughout the game. Jesus fucking Christ.
Wang's ERA sits at an unfathomably high 34.5. No, that's not a typo. Thirty-four and a half. In 6 IP, Wang has surrendered 23 runs (all earned). He's let in 7 or more runs in each of his starts and only lasted over 1.1 innings once this season. To put this in perspective, Wang surrendered a total of 82 ER in 200 IP in 2007.
So what's wrong with Wang? Screw the "he's coming off an injury" bit, Wang's ratios are down right scary. He's struck out exactly two batters and issued six walks in six innings (.34 K/BB). He's also surrendered two home runs after having given up only 9 in 2007 (200 IP). I know that 6 IP is a small sample size, but this is outing number three for Wang and it's time to start worrying. Either Wang's mechanics are fucked up or he is hiding an injury.
Thankfully, Phil Hughes is still around.
