Three Overtimes Later, I still have no idea what happened
I got back from class today at 9pm and decided to catch the end of Game 6 of the Bulls-Celtics series. I expected to watch a little basketball before continuing on to other tasks. Wow was I wrong. I normally don't follow professional basketball, but holy crap this series has been exciting. Only one game hasn't gone into overtime. Regardless of what Brad Miller did in Game 5, he made up for it in the OTs tonight. I know he's normally not very good, but how can you leave anybody that open for three ever? And since when could John Salmons penetrate to the hoop? John Salmons? He channeled his inner Wesley Snipes tonight. (I think they look oddly similar, like high school Sexy Rexy and Barry Bonds do). In what I saw of the game, Gordon fouled out and Rose wasn't making shots, but the Bulls still won. With Salmons and Miller leading the way? As a sports fan, seeing so many close games is getting even me excited about professional basketball. This post makes no sense. I blame the high intensity game. And regardless of who wins this series, they'll be too tired to make it past the second round, let alone into the conference finals.

I dont understand all the statements your making while admitting to not following professional sports. Luckily i follow everything so i can speak better on the subject.
Brad Miller is a 2 time all-star and one of the best passing big man around. He shoots 50% from the field, 80% from the line, and even 33% from 3 in his career. Thats actually better than LeBron James.
John Salmons has shot 47% from the field the past two years. The only way that is possible is if you make a lot of layups, so obviously he can drive to the basket and raise that shooting percentage.
Rose shot 48% from the field today. The is the definition of making jump shots.
These are the best athletes in the world, in any sport for that matter. The celts played a 7 game series against the Hawks last year in the first round and managed to dominate the rest of the playoffs, so that argument is invalid as well.
As you can tell, i respectfully disagree with basically everything in the post. I think you were still on a 4-hour, 3OT binge to think correctly
Yes, rereading this post even I have no idea what I said. Although I sort of like the delirium feeling I got with it. Very new journalism, sort of.
I wouldn't say I'm not a sports fan. Just not a professional basketball fan. Or a professional hockey fan. Or NASCAR. I guess really just baseball and football, but any sports fan can appreciate this series.
Really, in the overtimes, Salmons and Miller carried this team. Gordon fouled out in the first overtime. Rose scored four points, all in the last overtime period. With Gordon out and Rose a non-factor, how potent did you honestly think the Bulls offense would be in overtime? Maybe I underestimated them, but maybe not. Brad Miller used to be an all-star, but he is many years removed from his Sacramento glory days, you have to admit.
I completely understand the athleticism of these players. They run hard up and down the floor the entire night, and last night get 15 extra minutes to run around. Last night's game hugely showcased their athleticism. But when was the last time either team played such an intense playoff series with so many overtimes? Both teams are running on desperation: the Bulls desperate for an upset and the Celtics desperate just to get to the next round. Even if the winner manages to beat Orlando, there's no way they get past LeBron in the Conference Finals. Even you have to admit that.
And yes, I may write more delirium-fueled nonsense rants in the future. Hope y'all are ready to laugh and shake your heads!
