How low does your blood sugar have to be to throw 5 interceptions against a team on a 4 game losing streak with no offense to speak off? I know the receivers are short and slow, but so are the DB's so how about throwing it to the guys in white. You know it's a bad day when the QB has almost as many picks as the team has points. People still defend Cutler because he does throw for 300 yards, and the offensive line is brutal, but our patience is going to run short especially with the douche attitude he has every single game.
However, if you deeper into the numbers, there is hope. Cutler leads the league with 338 passing attempts, yet his comp%, yards/att, and TD% have all stayed constant since last season and his career as a whole. The only stats that are out of the ordinary is is an interception percentage that is at 5% this year as compared to 3.o and 2.9 the previous 2 seasons. His sack percentage has spiked from 1.8% last year to a whopping 5.3% per dropback this year. Obviously, the regression in talent in the WR and OL has taken a toll on Cutlers overall performance, but assuming he regresses to the mean with a larger sample size the interceptions should begin to normalize. However that does nothing to fix our crappy defense. Fuck this team

There's no way Cutler should be throwing the ball around the yard that much.I can understand the running game hasn't been up to par this season, but this was a 10-6 game and there's no way he should be throwing 5 picks with 52 pass attempts.
1) the running game isn't up to par because the bears offensive line is garbage and ranks 21st in the league in run blocking.
2) Do INTs on the last play of the game, throwing the ball up in the air and just hope ur receiver can catch it b/c why not, the games gonna be over no matter what, do those INTs REALLY count. No. They don't equal an extra turnover and an extra possession for your opponent. So really, Cuntler only had 4 INTs. Yes, obviously still awful.
3) These receivers are extremely fast, I have no idea where u get that they are slow because they are far from it. They just aren't good route runners which REALLY hurts the QB
4) Before the 49ers game, I didn't really blame Cutler. The offensive line is so fucking bad and these receivers, as a whole, are not that good. But when you throw for this many INTs in one game and over the course of the season, I have to start giving him some blame
However, INTs can be a faulty stat if you don't watch the game. Under throwing a receiver so the DB can intercept you is a INT that should be credited to the QB. But throwing the ball pretty well to your receiver and having that receiver have the ball bounce out of his hands so the DB can catch is, really should not be credited as an INT so the QB. Why should it? In those situations, what did the QB do wrong. It gets tricky though when the receiver runs the wrong route and the QB throws it to where the receiver should, not where the receiver and thus gets picked off. Should Jay Cutler NEVER throw it when he has 2+ defenders on his ass? Sometimes he makes an incredible play. Sometimes it's a dumb decision, sometimes it works out well.
5) Football is a team sport. It has proven that a team can win with a great running game, great D, and below avg QB play (see Baltimore Ravens with Dilfer and Tampa Bay Buc with Johnson). So to say that the QB is the most important position on the field is sort of BS. Which just means, that this team is not all Cutler's fault. People underestimate the importance of the offensive line and just how brutal this 09 Bears O-line is. It's awful and beings all offensive players down with them. This defense causing opponent's to put up points also forces the Bears offensive to do more, but they can't because the O-line sucks. it's just a catch 22 that all points back to the o-line.
6) Don't get me wrong, I'm pissed at Culter too. He legitimately and personally have done things to hurt this team. But are the Bears a shitty team BECAUSE of Cutler. No. They're a shitty team WITH Cutler. He's still a franchise QB, he's still the best QB the Bears have had since Sid Luckman, and he's still really good. His decision making needs to improve, but you know what, so does the decision making of the O-line and these receivers.
This city turns on QBs so fast in such a short period of time, it's ridiculous. Would you boo Albert Pujols in a 0-32 slump? No. Because he's fucking Albert Pujols and when you extrapolate his sample size, he's amazing. Same with Cutler. Over the long haul, he will be amazing for this team
7) One stat that upset me was that Jay Cutler's team has never had a winning record in high school, college, or in the pros. This worried me a bit, but then u realize a football team doesn't win or lose solely upon one position.
Also, unless Cuntler's attitude affects his play, I could care less if he's a douche. Ty Cobb and Barry Binds were miserable human beings but played sports well. I don't think Cutler's a douche to his teammates and his receivers so I don't think his attitude matters very much
