Jay Cutler Is An Interception Machine!

When the Bears got Jay Cutler everyone (including myself) was excited. He was a good quarterback who was supposed to turn the Bears around and lead them in the right direction. One thing that wasn't talked about in the honeymoon period after we got him was how many interceptions he throws!

Jay Cutler leads the NFL with 20 ugly interceptions this season. Jake Delhomme and Matthew Stafford are tied for second with 18. Mark Sanchez is in 4th place with 17 interceptions. Matt Ryan in 5th place only has 12, a more respectable number. Out of the top 4, two of them are rookies, so they are given a free pass for their rookie season while they get adjusted to the NFL. This is because many times rookie quarterbacks don't even start their rookie season so they can learn first from the sideline. Jake Delhomme only has 2 interceptions less than Cutler, but no one ever said he was good!

In 2008 Cutler had 18 interceptions which was second most in the NFL. Cutler was good in Denver, but he had a very good receiver in Brandon Marshall, and a better team around him, especially that offensive line. So until we get a better team around Jay Cutler, we shouldn't be surprised he is struggling. He has always thrown a lot of interceptions and now he has less time with a bad offensive line so he is trying to force the ball even more, which he has a track record of doing. So why is everyone surprised he is so bad and throwing so many interceptions?

Jay Cutler has always been prone to INTs. But then again, so is Brett Favre.

In his first three seasons these have been his INT%: 3.6, 3.0, 2.9. So while in Denver, he's improved and seemingly developed. And then he gets to Chicago and his INT rate escalated to a staggering 5%. It's clear this system and Ron Turner are fucking up Jay Cutler.

As TBO said in an earlier post, as Cutler plays more games and more season with the Bears, his INT% will normalize and he'll get better.

Yes, Cutler deserves a shit ton of criticism but I've preached many a times, it's absolutely not ALL his fault like Bears fans seem to believe

I think people need to stop looking at Cutler like he is the sole player responsible for us winning and losing. I dont believe any quarterback has that much command, not even payton manning. We need to ask ourselves if Cutler is a good enough qb to win a superbowl given that he has a championship quality team around him. Not one person would designate this team as SB quality, not even in the preseason. However, if you still believe that Cutler does more harm than good, even on a contending team, then he is a bust and should be gone. But I think he is 1 of 10 QBs that has the ability to be a difference maker on a championship team

Couldn't agree more TBO

People don't realize how good the Colts D has been under Manning's reign. As good as Brady has been, that D was pretty damn good when the Pats won three SB and the on time Brady went to the SB with an amazing offense and one of Brady's worst D's, they lost. As good as Drew Brees is, everyone will tell you the reason the Saints are doing well is because of that improved D.

Over the years once the Bears start developing a team AROUND Cutler. Bears fans will "realize" just how awesome Cutler is
